He turned 20!

May 3rd, 2009

Yesterday was my oldest son’s birthday. He turned 20. Although he doesn’t live at home anymore and we haven’t seen him in almost two years, I was talking back and forth to him on e-mails. He knew we were thinking of him and he had a pretty good day in spite of the fact that he wasn’t home with his family.

So, Happy Birthday Josh. Your father, brother, sister and I love you and miss you very much.

Starting to feel old

April 24th, 2009

In a couple of weeks my oldest son will be turning 20. Now that makes me feel seriously old. The fact that I’m turning 41 this year doesn’t make me feel old, but his age does. Thankfully I have the two younger kids around to make me still feel young. My daughter is turning 11 in August and my little fellow will be turning 9 in August. Now their ages don’t bother me, but my oldest son’s certainly does. I realize that we all age every day, but I really have to wonder where in heck did the last 20 years go. I shudder to think how old I will be feeling when he turns 30 or 40. I have a few years yet to worry about that. But man, I really am starting to feel old these days.

Super give away

April 21st, 2009

I just love give aways, now don’t you?

Well a good friend of mine is having a give away over at her blog over at Mom Knows Everything. This particular give away is a collection of Chicken Soup for the Soul books. This is a collection of books geared toward the middle schooler, the high schooler and the college student. This are amazing books for any child to be able to get into their book collection.

It’s really easy to enter her contest. All you need to do is comment on her post as to what book you would like and why. And if you’d like more entries, you can also do a blog post, twitter about it, and subscribe to her feed reader. The contest ends on April 30. So what are you waiting for??? Run on over to Mom Knows Everything and put you name in for the running.

Easter plans

April 8th, 2009

As you all know, this coming weekend just happens to be Easter. We really don’t have any plans as of yet because I have to work Saturday and Sunday, but hopefully we will do something special either Friday or Monday. My husband and I both have those days off as do the kids. The kids are actually off for five days in a row so hopefully one of those days we can do something as a family even if it’s only going out to eat somewhere.

So what are you plans for Easter? Anything exciting or just the same old, same old?

What a week!

March 31st, 2009

As you can see by my lack of posts in here, I haven’t been bloggging very much these days. I decided to try my hand a general dictation. Well, I got my first contract and that’s what I have been working on for six days straight. I pretty much only took time out to go to work on the weekend and to sleep a little bit. Otherwise, it’s been six strait days of typing.

But, I’m happy to report that I finished the contract. So hopefully you’ll see me in here a lot more often.

Home office/craft room almost done

March 20th, 2009

Wow! It’s been a very busy, yet productive week. This week because I had the entire house to myself, I decided I would clean out the spare room and try to get my home office/craft room all in order. It took me all week to do it, but I am finally moved in. Of course the room isn’t exactly the way I want it to be, but it sure is better than sitting at my kitchen table.

So, today I plan on putting the finishing touches on my room. I still have to sort through a lot of things and put up some pictures and my spoon collection. But all that will come in time. I’m just so happy that I got as far as I did with it this week! When I finally get it looking the way I want it to, I’ll be sure to take some pictures and come back in and post the final results.

Blogging taking a back seat

March 16th, 2009

Well I have been actively blogging for about two and a half years and have to say that I really am starting to get a little bored with it. At first it was fun and exciting to go into my blogs each day and see if I had any readers and commenter’s since I had last been in here. But, having been blogging for so long and on so many blogs, I am really starting to run out of things to say.

I don’t know if this is what people would term as a writer’s block, or if I am really not interested in this type of thing anymore. Well, I guess I’ll give it a little more time and see how I feel down the road. If I still feel the way I’m feeling these days, then I guess I’m going to have to make a few changes.

I’ll be sure to let you all know what I end up deciding.

Friday the 13th

March 13th, 2009

A lot of people are extremely suspicious of this day. Are you?? Well, once again it’s Friday the 13th. Thankfully I don’t have to go anywhere or do anything so I can stay in even if there is a lot of craziness out there.

I hope you all have a great Friday the 13th and a wonderful weekend as well. I’ll talk to you all again around the first of the week.

Slow Internet

March 9th, 2009

I have been so frustrated this past week. Not only did I have two kids home from school the entire week (March break), but, my Internet decided to take a break as well. I wasn’t able to get online very much so that’s why there wasn’t very many posts. I was able to do a lot of offline work, but not being able to post anything in most of my blogs all week, really did set me back a little.

But, this morning my Internet seems to be co-operating with me so hopefully this is a sign that my slow Internet is a thing of the past. Finger’s crossed that I don’t experience another week like I had last week.

My husband is the best!

March 2nd, 2009

About an hour after my husband left for work this morning, he showed back up in our yard. He came in with TWO coffees for me from my favorite copy shop (all you Canadians would know this as Tim Horton’s). Now, the reason for the two coffees??

No reason. He gave me the first one just because he was around our area. He gave me the second one to enjoy later in the day. Normally I go to Tim Horton’s around 2:30 pm every day. But because the kids are home on March break, he knew I probably wouldn’t go out today (that, and the fact that we are in the middle of a very bad freezing rain storm). So to be nice, he bought me two.

Thanks hunny! Love ya!
