Santa Clause parade

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

Saturday night was our annual Santa Clause parade here in our town. I only worked until 2:00 pm so we were able to take the kids to it. What a beautiful night!! It was quite mild out so we didn’t have to stand in the cold to watch the parade. That made the parade even better than it has been in years. There was a lot of floats, lights and music and the kids really enjoyed themselves. At the end of the parade they got to see Santa so they were really impressed with that. Now the entire family is in the mood for Christmas and all it took was one night out at a parade to accomplish this.

Starting to feel old

Friday, April 24th, 2009

In a couple of weeks my oldest son will be turning 20. Now that makes me feel seriously old. The fact that I’m turning 41 this year doesn’t make me feel old, but his age does. Thankfully I have the two younger kids around to make me still feel young. My daughter is turning 11 in August and my little fellow will be turning 9 in August. Now their ages don’t bother me, but my oldest son’s certainly does. I realize that we all age every day, but I really have to wonder where in heck did the last 20 years go. I shudder to think how old I will be feeling when he turns 30 or 40. I have a few years yet to worry about that. But man, I really am starting to feel old these days.

My husband is the best!

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

About an hour after my husband left for work this morning, he showed back up in our yard. He came in with TWO coffees for me from my favorite copy shop (all you Canadians would know this as Tim Horton’s). Now, the reason for the two coffees??

No reason. He gave me the first one just because he was around our area. He gave me the second one to enjoy later in the day. Normally I go to Tim Horton’s around 2:30 pm every day. But because the kids are home on March break, he knew I probably wouldn’t go out today (that, and the fact that we are in the middle of a very bad freezing rain storm). So to be nice, he bought me two.

Thanks hunny! Love ya!

Surprise!

Monday, February 16th, 2009

As you all know, Saturday was Valentine’s day.  Well let me tell you, I had the most wonderful Valentine’s day and it was all because of my husband.

As I was getting ready to go to work, he handed me a Valentine’s card.  The card he picked out was beautiful and what he wrote in the card brought tears to my eyes (and no, I’m not going to tell you what he wrote. LOL).  We had plans to go out to supper after I got off work, so this was all I was expecting from him for this day.

Well you can imagine my surprise when my eight year old son walked into my work with a bouquet of flowers.  This was such a surprise and I was just tickled that my husband chose to surprise me like this.  After my son gave me the flowers then my husband and my daughter came into my work as well so they could have breakfast.

So, it was a great day!  I hope you all enjoyed your day as much as I did mine.

Fun week a head…NOT

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Well today is the first day of my husband’s vacation and he has started bugging already.  If this keeps up then by the time he’s ready to go back to work on Monday, I will be ready for the funny farm.

Having him home for a week is normally worse than having the two little people home.  Because he is so used to working, when he’s not he gets seriously bored and quite quickly.  So the fun (not!) has already started and it’s only his first day home.  I can’t wait to see what the rest of the week is going to bring.

Wish me luck!  And if he manages to leave me alone for a little while, maybe I’ll be able to come back in and post again sometime this week.
